Xycom Launches Low-Power Industrial PCs

Xycom Automation launches a new line of heavy-duty industrial PCs: the 4700 Series. The 4700 Series features Intel M mobile processors used in many popular commercial laptop computers. Despite this boost in processing power over that of most industrial PCs, 4700 Series computers use only about half the wattage. Because the markedly reduced power usage of the M processor also results in less heat output, 4700 Series PCs are ideal for most factory automation applications requiring NEMA sealed enclosures. Lower heat output makes controlling the enclosure’s internal operational temperature much easier and often eliminates the need for expensive cooling devices.
The 4700 Series ships standard with a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron M processor (512K cache, 400MHz bus); 512MB DRAM, CD-ROM and WindowsXP. Upgrades are available, and Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000 (multi-language) may be preloaded and configured.
