Turck Solutions for Hazardous Areas
With the Achema show being held this year, Turck launches a range of new solutions for use in hazardous areas: Based on the BL20 fieldbus system, the German automation specialist introduces a comprehensive RFID system for “ex†areas including the first intrinsically safe data carriers (tags) which allow numerous new applications even in zone 1 – from coupling surveillance to labelling of proprietary plant components to the preventive maintenance of drill pipes.
Besides the BL ident components, the Namur sensor product line will be another highlight for the field of process automation. All inductive, capacitive, and magnetic field sensors with standardized Namur output are now approved for dust zone 20 and gas zone 1 – many even up to zone 0. All sensors are also approved for use in safety-related applications up to SIL2, in accordance with IEC 61508. Turck is also showing sensors with the TC terminal chamber concept and expanded temperature range (-40 to 100 °C) in the IP68/69K protection class.
