Taiwan, Japan Collaboration for SICE Industrial Automation Conference
Taking place at the Grand Hotel, Taipei, from August 18 to 21 is the SICE Annual Conference 2010 in Taiwan (SICE2010 in Taiwan), organized by the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE), Japan.
The conference has 747 papers from 20 countries to be presented in 64 organized sessions and many regular sessions. In additio, three practical workshops give engineers in the industrial automation sector exact, informative knowledge, while a Rescue Robot demonstration for the general public and a Robot workshop for children help to introduce ad promote SICE associated studies and technologies.
Hirozumi Sone, executive director and managing executive officer, Yamatake Corporation, and president of SICE, says that the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE) will commemorate its 50th anniversary in 2011, and having SICE2010 in Taiwan prior to this important anniversary makes it a landmark conference.
As stated in the Japanese Government’s science and technology policy, “green innovation†provides solutions for worldwide issues of global warming as well as changes in and operation of the energy structure, while “life innovation†aims to establish safe, reassuring and purposeful lives and society. SICE’s technology domain, which is centered on measurement and control, is thought to have the advantage and strength to solve such issues by taking a broad viewpoint and deploying technologies horizontally.
Tzuu-Hseng S. Li, Prof. National United University, President of CACS (Chinese Automatic Control Society) and General Co-Chair of SICE2010, said that SICE2010 must become the most informative and productive conference on industrial automation in Taiwan ad a a big milestone on the way to further enhancement of collaboration activities and partnership among academic societies, manufacturers’ associations and end-user organizations not only in Taiwan but also in the Asian region.
TEEMA (Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufactures’ Association) and JEMIMA (Japan Electric Measuring Instruments Manufacturer's Association) indicate that SICE2010, which is one of the largest conferences on the Industrial Automation Sector in Taiwan, must become a historic event to enhance collaborative activities among engineers who are in charge of measurement, control, and system Integration not only in Taiwan but also across the Asian region.
Accordingly, they are supporting the conference through participation in workshops organized by JEMIMA and all other sessions and events during SICE2010 in Taipei.
