Schneider Electric Announces Compact NSX Intelligent Molded Case Circuit Breaker
Schneider Electric today announces Compact NSX, which it claims is the world's first intelligent Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB) which integrates full power management functions along with power protection.
Schneider Electric launched the Compact NS in 1994. The Compact NS was synonymous with high performance and innovation, and set the industry standard for MCCB. Compact NSX circuit breakers is the latest low voltage innovation (23 new patents pending) from Schneider Electric that is based on the power protection by NS, while exceeding NS in features and performance. Compact NSX is an all-in-one compact device, it also contains a monitoring unit to track energy consumption and power. Monitoring consumption can reduce energy costs by as much as 10%.
Compact NSX measures, processes and displays data, either directly on screen, on the switchboard front panel, or via a monitoring system. This is possible thanks to the Micrologic electronic tripping device and the next-generation sensors (an 'iron-core' sensor for the power supply to the electronics; and an 'air core' sensor (Rogowski coils) for the measurement).
Other features include the double rotor-active contact structure for current limiting; reflex tripping for quick breaking on high faults; modular design for ease of use and many other features continue to be rooted in the NSX series.
