Profibus Accredits ASM Competence Center in Saudi Arabia

ASM Establishment has been accredited by Profibus International (PI) as the first Profibus International Competence Center (PICC) in Saudi Arabia. ASM Establishment is Saudi’s largest manufacturer and System integrator company which deals with Siemens Systems.

Ali Maqboul, ASM Establishment General Manager & the Manager of PICC Saudi Arabia, explains: "It is a stringent accreditation process and ASM worked hard to meet all the criteria. The demand for automation is growing rapidly in Saudi Arabia and Middle East. The ASM Competence Center will play a major role in spreading the technology throughout this region."

The ASM Competence Center will support companies in new product development, provide technical support for Profibus manufacturers and users, allow demonstrations of interoperability of products and provide a comprehensive range of certified training programmes. The Center’s support framework includes the availability of at least three Profibus experts, hardware equipment from various vendors and system test lab operations.

ASM will commence their training and it will be scheduled on ASM website. The course will be suitable for engineers and technicians and will cover the layout, installation and testing of Profibus DP and PA networks. A certified Profibus Engineers course covering network design, commissioning and live fault finding will be scheduled for early 2011.
