Procentec accredited for Profibus competency

Procentec Singapore has announced its accreditation as Profibus International (PI) Competence Center for South East Asia. After inspecting the knowledge and facilities, Michael Ulrich, Procentec International auditor, judged Procentec Singapore as complying with all requirements to independently operate as a Profibus DP and PA Competence Center.

As an official PI Competence Center, Procentec will form a technology hub and knowledge base for Profibus technology to support the regional industry, offering helpdesk functions and various technical services.

One of the key objectives for Procentec as PICC is to bring more knowledge to the local supply base. For this purpose Procentec says it will roll out a program to accredit engineering, systems integration and installations firms who are involved in design, implementation and servicing of Profibus DP and PA systems.

In addition, a series of regional technical talks will be organized in 2010 in conjunction with the Profibus Association to maximize interaction between suppliers and users of Profibus technology.

Procentec is now the sole officially accredited PI Competence Center in the area of Profibus South East Asia, which covers Asean, India and Taiwan. The company, headed by ex-Turck regional chief Henk Schaake, has a team of certified engineers available to assist customers in the region with their Profibus installations.
