Omron Opens Regional Head Office in India

The first regional head office to oversee operations in a single country

Omron has announced the commencement of operations at its newly established regional head office, the Omron Management Centre of India, in the north Indian city of Gurgaon. The new office, the first regional head office set up by Omron to oversee operations in a single country, will be responsible for accelerating Omron's business growth throughout India.

The regional head office will provide Omron Group companies operating in India dedicated financial, legal, and IT support; human resources support helping to deal with the urgent issue of local personnel recruitment and staff training; reinforcement of the Omron brand in India; and public relations, communications, and CSR functions focussed on contributing to Indian society.

Omron currently has regional head offices responsible for managing operations in the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Greater China regions. Up till now, the Omron Management Centre of Asia Pacific located in Singapore has been responsible for the management of operations in India. However, with the positioning of India as a crucial operational hub in Omron's new emerging market strategy, the establishment of a dedicated local head office was deemed necessary to help strengthen business operations in the country more swiftly.

Omron is currently moving rapidly to reinforce operations in India by increasing the number of industrial automation and healthcare equipment sales bases and boosting the number of system engineers and sales personnel. The company says that the establishment of the new dedicated head office will allow each Omron company to not only obtain the head office support they require without delay, but also allow them to focus their efforts on their core business activities, thereby enabling Omron to further accelerate its growth in India.

With the implementation of Omron's new 10-year strategy, Value Generation 2020, in July 2011, increased emphasis has been given to achieving growth in emerging markets such as China, Brazil, and India. One of the primary goals of Value Generation 2020 is to achieve annual sales exceeding 1 trillion Japanese yen. In order to achieve this Omron is aiming to increase annual sales in emerging markets like India 240% to 400 billion yen by 2020.
