More power for fieldbus

From Pepperl+Fuchs, the 500 mA High-Density Power Hub, a component of the company’s Field Connex fieldbus infrastructure, ups the power supply current rating from the previous 360 mA per fieldbus segment to allows considerably more freedom in the selection of field devices and their number connected to one segment.

The basic motherboard supports up to eight power supply modules and the connection of up to four Foundation fieldbus H1 segments. Passive power conditioning increases reliability while integrated fieldbus termination enables the setup of a highly available system configuration. Plug-in terminals with retaining screws take care of secure connections which are resistant against vibrations and prevent any unintentional disconnection.

Being highly compact saves space inside the switching cabinet, and optimized circuits with low power loss result in superior thermal conditions to allow positioning the board in any direction. As an optional feature, an Advanced Diagnostic Module can be attached to the power hub to provide continuous monitoring and diagnosis of the fieldbus physical layer.
