Mitsubishi Electric and SAP Collaborate for Energy Management
As reported by Shingo Tokiwa of ARC Advisory Group, Mitsubishi Electric and SAP are to jontly develop new solutions to promote effective energy savings in manufacturing. Included in the scope of joint efforts are : system requirement definitions, system configuration, and product development as required.
With the joint solutions, Mitsubishi’s e&eco-F@ctory solution, which delivers “Mieruka†(visualization) of plant production and energy information, and SAP’s integrated MII (SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence) software for manufacturing will be brought together to work with manufacturing execution systems.
The idea is that various production and energy data at manufacturing floors are connected without disruption from intervening systems to help achieve a real-time view by production management, executives, and corporate-wide deliberate energy management.
Mitsubishi’s e&eco-F@ctory solution will be discussed at the ARC Forum 2010, Japan, “Driving Innovation, Sustainability, and Performance for Industry†to be held on July 23, 2010 in Tokyo.
