McCrometer Introduces FPI Mag and V-Cone Flow Meters

McCrometer has introduced the FPI Mag (Full Profile Insertion) and V-Cone Flow Meters. The hot tappable FPI Mag Flow Meter is designed for measuring chilled water in large campus evaporative HVAC systems. The advanced V-Cone Flow Meter features built-in flow conditioning with precision steam measurement.

McCrometer’s FPI Mag Flow Meter relies on multiple electrodes placed across the entire pipe diameter. The FPI Mag is available for line sizes from 4 to 138 inches. With highly stable measurement, the FPI Mag features accuracy of ±1% of reading from +0.3 to +20 ft/s. The flow sensor comes pre-calibrated from McCrometer’s NIST traceable Calibration Lab and requires no recalibration in the field.

McCrometer’s V-Cone Flow Meter is designed for retrofit installations or new buildings. Requiring only 0-3 straight pipe diameters upstream and 0-1 diameters downstream, theV-Cone fits easily into piping systems where long runs of straight pipe are required by Orifice Plates, Vortex, and other technologies are either impractical or unavailable.

The V-Cone’s self-conditioning design provides an extremely stable flow profile disrupting flow disturbances that affect measurement accuracy. The V-Cone offers an accuracy rating of +0.5% and the repeatability is +0.1% over the entire range. The versatile V-Cone supports line sizes from 0.5 to 120 inches with a high turndown ratio which can handle both winter and summer usage without any instrument adjustments.
