Kontron ETX-DC Serves Glacier Computer's Everest Products
The Kontron ETX-DC Computer-on-Module (COM) has been designed into Glacier Computer's new line of Everest industrial computers. A new case study recently released by Kontron details how the company's COMs delivered the embedded computing solution Glacier required to meet its product reliability goals. The Kontron ETX-DC met Glacier's needs for a standards-based platform that could operate 24/7 in high levels of vibration and withstand wide temperature extremes on forklifts that operate in -20°F freezers and then out onto loading docks where temperatures can vary by more than 80 to 100 degrees.
Kontron's case study on the ETX-DC solution for Glacier Computer also include fanless designs in harsh environments that require passive cooling, Intel Atom N270 processor; and ETX 3.0 form factor.
