Jerry Yen Joins Mitsubishi Electric Automation

Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc., a global industrial automation company, has announced that Jerry Yen has been named director of the company's new Custom Solutions Center.

Yen comes to Mitsubishi following a 25-year career with General Motors, where he rose to be the technical fellow and principal engineer for the Controls, Conveyors, Robotics, and Welding (CCRW) Group within the GM Manufacturing Engineering organization. In 1994, Yen, together with colleagues at GM, initiated the Open Modular Controls Architecture (OMAC) effort in the automation industry and subsequently became one of the founders and co-chairman of the OMAC Users Group, a global organization for automation and manufacturing professionals.

In his role as director of the new Custom Solutions Center, Yen will be responsible for integrating Mitsubishi Electric and partner products, combining products to create solutions for specific industries, and engineering and testing new product capabilities with existing installed assets.

Mitsubishi automation products are recognized for their quality, reliability, and performance," said Matt Lopinski, vice president of Sales and Marketing, Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. "Under the leadership of Jerry Yen, our Custom Solutions Center team will develop solutions utilizing our products that enable customers to achieve their production goals quickly, cost-effectively, and reliably and at the same time gain world-class agility."
