Island Power to Construct 800MW Combined Cycle Power Facility on Jurong Island

The GMR Group, which acquired 100% ownership stake in Island Power in 2009, will release the execution of a 800MW combined cycle power facility on Jurong Island in the third quarter of this year.

The Siemens-Samsung consortium will provide a turnkey EPC CCPP comprising two state-of-the-art SGT5-4000F gas turbines in single shaft configuration.

The power generating facility will be one of the first in Singapore to use liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the LNG terminal on Jurong Island and is slated for completion and operationally ready in 2013.
