Invensys Opens North Caspian Service Centre in Kazakhstan

Invensys Process Systems (IPS) has announced the opening of its new North Caspian Service Centre, a state-of-the-art facility in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, that will strengthen its commitment to clients in the region. It is the company’s second office in Kazakhstan and will support local and global project deployment. It features an engineering excellence centre, modernized staging area, technology showcase centre, and a training and customer support service centre. It will also serve as the company’s regional sales and operations headquarters.

Nicholas Pomeroy, IPS Country Manager, Kazakhstan, said, “Our success in this region is based on our proven industrial automation solutions and will be supported by the extensive capabilities of our North Caspian Service Centre. Many IPS engineers are Kazakhstani nationals, supported by local Kazakhstani administration and management services. IPS also provides training programmes in English and Russian, and we have excellent and close links with the Kazakh-British Technical University in Almaty. During the last two years, IPS has invested $100,000 — approximately 15 million tenge — to equip KBTU’s laboratory and provide students with the first-class training they need to succeed at home and abroad.”

The new Atyrau office also provides additional support to oil and gas projects, as well as existing IPS facilities within the Mangistau and West Kazakhstan Regions. The North Caspian Service Centre will be responsible for supporting all IPS operations within Kazakhstan and is the single point of contact for all IPS Kazakhstani clients. The office is also the focal point for all maintenance and service work to support IPS-supplied products and systems already installed in Kazakhstan.

“IPS is fully committed to the development of local engineering resources and has made significant investments to develop highly trained Kazakhstani nationals to serve our clients in the region,” said Serena Lang, General Manager, IPS North West Europe and Africa. “We continue to grow our staff here, and with access to the latest intelligent industrial automation and control technologies, our local engineers will be able to help our clients solve their most critical business issues. With the continued support of the Atyrau community and government officials, we look forward to developing more business for the benefit of our clients and communities in the region.”
