Industrial Automation North America Joins IMTS in Calling Manufacturing Professionals to "Be There"
Event to showcase products and services for automation industry
“Be There”. That's the call-to-action that Industrial Automation North America (IANA) and International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) have issued to industrial decision-makers worldwide. IANA will take place for the first time as a co-located event at IMTS 2012, which will run from September 10 to 15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
IMTS developed the “Be There” theme to inspire the IMTS audience – which comprises more than 82,000 attendees from 106 countries – to seek innovation and inspiration, solve manufacturing challenges, and remain competitive.
IANA is organized by Hannover Fairs USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG. Deutsche Messe, whose automation and manufacturing portfolio includes HANNOVER MESSE – the world's leading industrial technology tradeshow – as well as established events in Europe and the BRIC countries. Deutsche Messe will use this worldwide network to promote IANA and IMTS around the world and attract even more international buyers.
“Automation providers want to connect with the IMTS audience, and the IMTS audience wants the latest innovations in automation” said Tessa Marheineke, event director at Deutsche Messe. “We have already taken orders for more than a third of IANA's floor space, and IANA will expand the traditional IMTS audience, delivering even more value to all visitors.” Marheineke also noted that a recent agreement on work rule reforms between the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA), which owns McCormick Place, and the labor organizations that represent McCormick Place's workforce, has created more flexibility and reduced costs for exhibitors.
The main exhibit categories at IANA are Industrial Automation Systems, Electrical Systems, Industrial IT & Software, Microsystems Technology, and Power transmission and Fluid Technology. Visitors at IANA will include trade professionals from these sectors as well from such user industries as aerospace, automotive, energy, food and beverage, infrastructure, machine tools, material handling, and medical manufacturing. Companies that have so far registered to exhibit include Beckhoff, Bernecker + Rainer Industrie Elektronik, EMA Electronics, Harting, IXXAT Automation, Lanbao Sensor, Molex, ROLLON, Siemens, and VIPA (Gesellschaft für Visualisierung und Prozessautomatisierung).
The IANA exhibit program will also feature the MDA Pavilion, a community exhibit for international providers of power transmission and control solutions, and the IFPE Fluid Power Zone for fluid power technology providers. The programs, which are organized by the VDMA (German Engineering Federation) and NFPA (National Fluid Power Association), respectively, are also partnering with Penton Media's Design Engineering Group to stage the “Motion Drive & Automation Conference."
