Honeywell Releases OneWireless Adapter for Hart Devices

Honeywell's latest addition to its OneWireless industrial wireless portfolio is the OneWireless Adapter, which allows manufacturers to convert field devices that use the Hart protocol, one of the most widely used instrumentation protocols in the process industries, into devices that can transmit data over an ISA100.11a-compliant wireless network.

By allowing any Hart device to communicate over the wireless network, the OneWireless Adapter helps improve the flow of information and gives operators the data they need to make the right decisions at the right time, says Honeywell.

"Plants want to upgrade to wireless field devices to improve their plant efficiency and asset reliability, but typically they want to avoid the expense of a rip and replace approach with their wired instrumentation," said Ray Rogowski, Global Wireless Marketing Director.

"A good strategy for getting started with wireless technology is to take as much advantage of the existing infrastructure as possible, which is exactly what the OneWireless Adapter can help plants do."
