Ethernet Direct Obtains UL Certification for Ethernet Switches

Ethernet Direct has announced that Husky series industrial Ethernet switches and Retriever series industrial media converters comply with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Class 1 Division 2 approvals. Class 1 Division 2 is required in operations involving hazardous environments. Typical industry applications include oil & gas, mining & aggregates, military, defense, petrochemical industry applications and more.

Electronic products must meet certain requirements and obtain special certifications in order to be used in these environments. By acquiring Underwriters Laboratories’ (UL) certification for Class 1 Division 2 applications, selected Ethernet Direct Industrial switches and Industrial media converters are now UL/cUL approved to be used in these types of hazardous locations.
