Echelon and Convergys Partner to Define Smart Grid Customer Experience

Convergys and Echelon have announced a collaboration to develop integrated Smart Grid solutions based on Convergys’ real time Smart CIS Solution and Echelon’s Networked Energy Services (NES) System. According to both parties, the software will provide an integrated metering, rating and billing system to customers, allowing more control over energy usage while driving cost savings.

Despite Singapore’s overall smart grid expenditure not being decided, expenditures of S$1.4 billion are expected in the green sector by 2015. This in line with the Singapore government announcing a S$1.7 billion investment into green energy and green technologies by 2015.

The collaboration between Convergys and Echelon aims to support and help address smart grid initiatives in countries across Asia, who like Singapore, are keen on adopting smart grid technologies that will encourage more efficient energy use for a better and greener environment.
