Byres and Belden Announce Alliance for Cyber Security

Byres Security Inc (BSI) and Belden and have announced that they have signed a technology cooperation agreement to jointly launch new products in the area of industrial network security, with availability later this year.

The alliance aims to utilize BSI’s expertise in providing practical solutions to protect industry from network and cyber threats, and Belden’s position in the automation market – specifically with the Hirschmann range of products - to deliver complete industrial security solutions for customers.

Eric Byres, chief technology officer of BSI, notes “Industry has become very reliant on the quality and consistency of its data streams, particularly for SCADA and automation. Systems and solutions need to be rugged – and it is for this reason that we are delighted to be working with Belden, a world leader in reliable industrial network products, to deliver simple and dependable security solutions for the Hirschmann range of products.”

BSI’s flagship product, the Tofino Industrial Security Solution, is a hardware and software security system that provides Zone Level Security (ZLS) – tailored, protection for zones of control devices. With the new agreement in place, the Tofino technology partner program now includes MTL Instruments, Honeywell Process Solutions and Belden.
