Beckhoff Introduces Dynamic AM8000 Servomotor
The AM8000 servomotor integrates the feedback system and power into one standard motor cable.
Following a development period of 1½ years, Beckhoff will unveil the new AM8000 motor series at SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2011. The rotary synchronous servomotors, which are available in standard and stainless steel designs, are characterised by high dynamics, energy efficiency and low costs. One of the AM8000 highlights is the new single-cable technology, with which the power and feedback system are combined in one standard motor cable. Material and commissioning costs can be significantly lowered as a result.
With the introduction of the new AM8000 high-performance servomotor series, Beckhoff now offers a complete automation system consisting of PC-based controllers, I/O, Drives and motors – completely from the company's own development and production. In combination with Servo Drives from the AX series, to which the AM8000 series is perfectly matched with regard to power rating and windings, Beckhoff can fulfil customer requests even more flexibly. Apart from high availability and flexibility, development and production in Germany ensures consistently high quality. This new servomotor series will be available from the 1st quarter of 2012.
The AM8000 series encompasses six different motor sizes, each with two or three optional overall lengths, so that the widest possible torque range is covered seamlessly with overlaps. The user can select a motor suitable for universal use from a stall torque range of 0.9 to 65 Nm. The sophisticated rotor and stator technology represent the actual basis for the new servomotor. Among other things, the modern salient pole winding technology is used in the motor, which enables an even higher slot fill factor. Small end turns in conjunction with a fully encapsulated stator provide robustness and excellent thermal management. Through the optimised design and use of high-quality materials, it has been possible to increase AM8000 energy efficiency by more than 10% compared to conventional servomotors.
