Profibus Competence Center Opens in India

-- Top News, 8 September 2009

UL Group has been given the authority to establish a Profibus International Competence Center in India by Profibus International (PI). A Profibus International Competence Center (PICC) helps participants gain technical expertise and essential design and installation skills for Profibus and Profinet networks.
This is made possible through intense training sessions that focus on theory and practicalproblem solving exercise. Candidates completing the course successfully are entitled to receive Profibus Certified Network Engineer/Certified Installer certificates.
“Today, the world’s leading manufactures in industrial and electrical automation entrust UL with representing their products and services in India and we haven’t let them down. Over the last couple of years, we have been instrumental in creating greater awareness about Profibus through products, technology seminars and services offered all over the country.
“And now, with the unique distinction of bringing PICC to India, we can leverage the availability of entire Profibus products & knowledge ‘under one roof’ to the benefit of customers all across India,” said UL Group in a statement.
PI has set up Competence Centers in over 22 countries across the world, and it is estimated that Profibus now has more than 500,000 applications throughout the world, with over 30 million nodes already installed.
In India, those interested in training courses, membership and other services can contact Dileep Miskin, head of PICC, at: profibus@ulepl.com..
