PAC provides I/O control

-- 1 March 2009

The μPAC-7186EX-FD from ICP DAS is a palm-sized programmable automation controller that features data logging, I/O control, as well as various COM ports, such as Ethernet, RS-232 and RS-485. By pairing an I/O expansion bus with different kinds of X-boards, various I/O functions can be performed, such as D/I, D/O, A/D, D/A, Timer/ Counter, UART, flash memory, battery backup SRAM, andASIC key.

ICP DAS also provides software development tool kits (Xserver, VxComm, Modbus libraries) to allow serial devices to be easily integrated with uPAC-7186EX-FD, and allow Ethernet communications via the standard Modbus protocol. The PAC also works with SCADA software like Indusoft, ISaGRAF, DasyLab, Trace Mode, Citect, and iFix.

Compared to the uPAC-7186EX, the uPAC-718EX-FD includes an extra 64 MB flash memory. Using the built-in MFS (MiniOS7 File System) library, files can be read/written from/to the flash memory.
