Dual bus support on halfsize CPU card

-- 1 November 2008

IEI Technology Corp announces the launch of the PICOe-GM45A half-size CPU card, a 45 nm Intel Core 2 Duo processor platform that combines both PCI Express (PCIe) and PCI edge connectors on a half-size form factor.

While half-size CPU cards are commonly used in space-restricted industrial computing applications, most do not provide simultaneous support for both the PCIe and PCI communication buses. Supporting only one of these restricts the expansion options available to integrators and developers. Hence the advantage of the PICOe-GM45A, which simultaneously supports both the PCIe and PCI buses on a half-size card.

The PICOe-GM45A is deal for high I/O throughput industrial computing applications that require high-performance, flexible expansion options, low power usage and a smaller footprint. Support for multiple display formats combined and compatibility with a wide range of motion detection cards also makes it suitable for machine vision applications.
