Flowmeter for corrosive fluids

-- 1 October 2008

Universal Flow Monitors introduces a series of plastic-construction flowmeters for costeffectiveness in transmitting flows of corrosive fluids. The P420 Series of vortex-shedding flowmeters, which have wetted parts made entirely of PVC, are designed to transmit low-viscosity fluids including those that may contain particles.

Electronic output is from a 4-20 mA two-wire transmitter rated Intrinsically Safe when used with barriers. The electronics package is totally potted and not vulnerable to shorting, corrosion, leaks, humidity or condensate from conduits or thermal cycling.

The meters meet requirements of industrial, water treatment, chemical treatment and water desalination operations for an inexpensive flow rate transmitter without moving parts that can stick, bind or coat when processing corrosive fluids. Applications include water, water with chemicals added, wastewater, corrosives, brines and low-viscosity pure liquids.
