In response to recent security concerns related to its CitectSCADA software, Citect has released the following information to the media: "In accordance with our policy of informing our customers of any potential security risks, Citect has released security guidance relating to the use of the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) capability in CitectSCADA software to configure Internet Display Client (IDC) functionality. "The guidance is published on the Security Knowledgebase section of Citect’s website: http://knowledgebase.citect.com/SafetyandSecurity/article.aspx?id=1001"The guidance is designed to help customers reduce potential security risks when using FTP across the Internet."The guidance is issued as part of Citect’s on-going review and updating of its security tools and methodologies and is also being communicated to customers."
