RuggedCom Releases Added Features for the RuggedRouter Network Router

RuggedCom Inc, a provider of rugged communications networking solutions, has released new features for the RuggedRouter network router to address specific needs of mission-critical applications, such as those found in substation automation and "Smart Grids" for electric utilities, intelligent transportation systems, and advanced control and automation for industrial processes.
The new RuggedRouter features include a Cellular Modem Interface to allow secure wireless connectivity over a cellular network, Traffic Control with IEEE802.1p to control bandwidth for different types of network traffic to ensure mission critical data is properly handled, and Cyber Security features including new access levels and enhanced Radius support.
"We continue to add many unique and industry specific features to our RuggedRouter platform," explains Roger Moore, VP of Engineering for RuggedCom. "We work closely with our customers to provide a solution set that enables them use the latest technologies to improve performance and maximize asset utilization."
