Pickering Interfaces has released the new EL3602 EtherCAT I/O terminal. With the EL3602, Beckhoff now offers another high precision analog measuring equipment designed for use with EtherCAT.
The EL3602 samples measurement readings with a 24 bit resolution and accuracy within ±0.01 percent. Beckhoff Automation refers to the integration of engineering functions that go beyond traditional PLC and motion technologies into automation software as "Scientific Automation." The EL3602 builds on the ever-increasing performance of PC-based control technology and an ultra fast communication system such as EtherCAT.
The EL3602 EtherCAT Terminal measures signals directly in a standard I/O system. The analog 2-channel EL3602 input terminal handles signals ranging between -10 and +10 V. The voltage is digitized with a high, 24 bit resolution. The high precision of ±0.01 percent at 25 °C enables the execution of high-precision measuring tasks on a machine or for test rig automation, according to Beckhoff.
