Tata Elxsi, the technology division of Tata Group, has announced a partnership with Proassist, a Japanese company that provides product and system services in embedded control electronics. The collaboration will result in the establishment of a Proassist Global Development Center (PGDC) in India. According to Ikoma Kyoko, CEO, Proassist, the PGDC will be responsible for embedded projects in digital signal processor (DSP), Imaging and application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for Factory Automation customers in Japan. Kyoko said Tata Elxsi and Proassist would jointly work on R&D projects and intellectual property (IP) developments. The company said it would work with Proassist on various embedded projects for mutually benefiting their customer base in Japan. “Japan remains a key market for Tata Elxsi,” said Manoj Raghavan, geography head for Japan and East Asia, Tata Elxsi. “This collaboration with Proassist for the building the PGDC will not only help both the companies but will also strengthen our foothold in the long term and increment the level of our technical expertise in the embedded space and IP development.”
