Control Technology Corp., a manufacturer of automation controllers that integrate motion control, I/O, user interfaces, and enterprise connectivity, announces the appointment of Thomas N. Schermerhorn as the new President of CTC. Tom joins CTC from Acushnet Company.
"We're delighted to have Tom Schermerhorn rejoin CTC," said the company's Chairman, Ken Crater. "Tom's leadership and commitment to customer service is well demonstrated, and his recent work at Acushnet has given him a customer's perspective on CTC, as well as on other companies in our market."
The addition comes at an important time for the company, with the recently announced completion of its 5300 Series of programmable automation controllers. The flagship product line includes advanced motion capabilities in conjunction with data acquisition and reporting, web-based HMI and conventional analog and digital control.
Prior to working at Acushnet, Tom was part of Control Technology Corporation for 17 years, where he held VP positions in Engineering and Systems Engineering as well as various roles in sales, marketing and product development. Throughout his time at CTC, customers recognized him for his creative problem-solving approach to their unique challenges. Tom is known for his customer-oriented research, defining real-time/long-term goals and refining them into well crafted automation solutions. Many of these solutions have become the core technology of subsequent CTC hardware and software products.
Tom's charter is to advance the global presence of CTC via strategic partnerships and new product development and to achieve a superior level of customer satisfaction.
