McObject, developer of the eXtremeDB in-memory embedded database system, and Waveaxis, a fast-growing Bangalore-based product engineering, software development and sales company, announced a partnership in which Waveaxis will distribute and provide integration services for McObjects real-time embedded database software in India.
Strong and growing demand in India for a streamlined, high performance embedded databases drove McObject and Waveaxis to form the pact, McObject Chief Operating Officer Chris Mureen said.
“McObject has already enjoyed success in India, with local organizations, such as Lifetree Convergence and the Center for the Development of Telematics (C-DOT), and India-based development groups for U.S. firms including SOMA Networks, Bioscrypt (an L-1 company) and Genesys Microchip, using eXtremeDB in their successful technology products,” Mureen said.
“We have past experience with embedded database technologies and understand well the key features required in the embedded software market. A DBMS must be very compact and, above all, fast. Professional developers are the primary users, so the database must have sophisticated and flexible indexing, debugging tools and application programming interfaces,” Waveaxis President Yafoor Hussain said.
“The Indian software industry is booming, with development activity being outsourced here, large companies launching development centers, and products companies emerging in India that are hungry for the new advanced technology to give their products an edge worldwide. This provides a huge opportunity for high quality embedded products such as eXtremeDB,” Hussain said.
