Honeywell Honored for Automation Excellence in China

Honeywell was honored by the Chinese Association of Automation as one of 2007's "Best 10 Automation Enterprises" during the association's 2008 Chinese Automation Industries Event (CAIE). Honeywell's Experion Process Knowledge System application for Shenhua Baotou's coal-to-olefin project also was honored as one of 2007's "10 Most Influential Projects." The awards recognize Honeywell's commitment to help China's industrial sector operate safely, reliably and efficiently, as well as address the global challenges of conserving energy and protecting the environment.Highlights of Honeywell's progress in China in 2007 include the opening of the global engineering service centre in Chongqing, increased installations of Experion PKS throughout the process industries, and the launch of Honeywell's innovative OneWireless industrial wireless solution. In addition, Honeywell Process Solutions expanded its product portfolio and strengthened its lifecycle management services.Honeywell's Experion PKS application in the world's first coal-to-olefin project - by Shenhua Group in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia - was honored because the project met high standards concerning the automation of chemical processes. "The successful implementation of Shenhua's Coal Chemical Project is essential to China's energy strategy," said Thomas Liu, managing director of Honeywell Process Solutions China. "The current high price of oil and natural gas has made coal an attractive energy alternative. Honeywell's implementation of advanced technology and control solutions for Shenhua demonstrated Honeywell's dedication to China's industrial sector and commitment to support China's economic development."
