Adept Technology, Inc., a provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, announced the Adept Quattro s650 robot at Intersolar 2008, the world’s largest solar trade fair, in Munich, Germany, June 12-14.
The robot was also showcased at the fair’s North American sister show, Intersolar North America 2008 in San Francisco, CA June, 15-17. The robotic demonstration included advanced technology for thin cell handling and inspection.
“Intersolar is the perfect venue to demonstrate the unique capabilities of the Quattro s650 robot for solar cell handling and inspection,” said John Dulchinos, president of Adept Technology, Inc. “As the industry shifts to thinner and thinner cells, Quattro robots have proven to be the perfect solution for increasing manufacturing yields and overall factory throughput.”
The Adept Quattro robot was recently selected by SLS Solar Line Saxony ("SLS") as part of its standard products for their automation equipment for solar cell production. The Adept Quattro s650 robot, first introduced by Adept in 2007, uses a four arm Parallel kinematic compared the traditional three arm Delta style kinematic.
As is the case with most other robots from Adept, the amplifiers are in the base of the robots. Since the official launch of the Adept Quattro, over 200 systems have been sold, claims Adept.
