ABB has released the IndustrialIT ECS Enterprise Connectivity Solutions, which includes enhancements for quicker integration of systems, improved performance, and simplified user interface, claimed ABB.
According to ABB, ECS provides a streamlined, single point interface for vertical integration between plant and enterprise business systems for improved productivity, flexibility, quality control and reduced order-to-cash cycle. Part of the ABB’s Collaborative Production Management (CPM) portfolio, ECS also provides one standard interface that connects automation and business systems for information access and exchange.
It provides connectivity between manufacturing solutions, including the vendor’s IndustrialIT System 800xA, as well as third-party DCS systems, other CPM solutions, and enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft. Additionally, ECS can integrate database systems, OPC-compliant systems or Web Service enabled systems.
This latest release of ECS also includes several new features, online redundancy, improved drag-and-drop process definition, improved logging and model debugging, and easier-to-use-and-understand graphics.
