Integrated Motion and Logic Controller from Bosch Rexroth

-- Product News, 10 April 2008

The IndraMotion MLC controller from Bosch Rexroth Corp. combines motion and logic with robotic control on a uniform IEC platform. Designed to lower automation costs, the MLC is capable of up to 64 axes of control with the ability to handle up to eight robotic kinematics simultaneously. The MLC controller uses standard IEC programming rather than proprietary programs for the robotic functions.
According to Bosch Rexroth, there are currently more than 100 ready-to-use kinematics for Delta, SCARA and Cartesian style robots, offering a full six-axis path planner. Features include dynamic belt synchronization for multiple conveyors, and integrated vision system interface. A kinematic wizard is available to ease configuration. This control platform uses an all Ethernet-based SERCOS III network as standard drive interface and for HMI and vision system integration.
