The Multi-Mag Flow Meter from McCrometer, with its multi-point flow measurement technology, now offers accuracy and ease-of-use over a wide flow range under rugged conditions that include the presence of sand and grit in converting raw ground water to potable drinking water.McCrometer’s Multi-Mag Flow Meter measures liquid volumetric flow rates in pipes sized from 4 to 120 inches (101.6 mm to 3 m) with a streamlined multi-point technology with negligible pressure loss. It is also available for 1-, 2- and 3-inch taps. Featuring an advanced insertable electromagnetic averaging design, the Multi-Mag measures volumetric flow with accuracy up to ±1% of reading (from 0 to +20 feet/second + zero stability) and repeatability at 0.20 percent of the flow range. The Multi-Mag Flow Meter features a 4-20 mA analog output that is galvanically isolated and fully programmable for zero and full scale. It is designed with dual alarms (2 separate outputs) and is fully programmable for high/low flow rates, percent of range, empty pipe, forward/reverse, polarity (normally opened/closed).The Multi-Mag’s single-probe design is constructed with multiple sensors. They constantly measure shifting flow profiles and compensate for variable flow rates (unlike single-point meters). McCrometer claims this design is also suitable for use within close proximity to valves and elbows, which frequently cause flow profile disturbances that affect the accuracy of many other meter flow sensing technologies.
