Pepperl+Fuchs drops FDT/DTM fees

-- 1 March 2008

Ads by Google

In what it is calling “a sign of appreciation” to loyal customers who have been using FDT/DTM (field device tool/device type manager) technology for many years and aided in its worldwide acceptance, Pepperl+Fuchs has decided to discontinue charging any license fee for a range of DTMs. As with the also free-of-charge PACTware FDT framework, the DTMs are ready-to-use and fully featured directly after Internet download and installation. DTM projects can thus set up more rapidly. FDT/DTM technology allows fast and easy configuration of complex field devices prior to their operation. Pepperl+Fuchs’ customers were among the first to apply the technology for effective commissioning and operation of Fieldbus, Hart multiplexers, interface technology, remote I/O, corrosion and level Detection devices.

Specifically, DTMs for the following device types are now available free of charge: DTM Interface Technology, DTM Level Control, DTM Corrosion Detection, DTM FieldConnex. and DTM Hart Multiplexers. These device type managers are available for download at www.pepperl-fuchs.com.
