Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has added a Profinet connection to its Simatic VS720A camera series for industrial image processing. The seven new cameras for monochrome and color image processing possess improved image recording features, a larger memory to accommodate more inspection programs and data, and a new processor architecture for shorter inspection times.The production data and image data of the new VS720A cameras are transferred to an automation system or HMI simultaneously and deterministically via the Profi net connection using TCP/IP.
