Manufacturing automation continues to be a bellwether for the ongoing transformation of industry – globalization coupled with integration and convergence of industrial and commercial technologies. ODVA is a key participant in this transformation.
In 2007, ODVA published specifications for integrating Modbus devices into the CIP Network architecture, paving the way to unify the two largest installed bases of industrial Ethernet devices – Modbus/TCP and EtherNet/IP – into a single integrated architecture.
