2007 was another year of solid growth across the region. A signifi cant milestone was the launch of wireless technology for mainstream use in Asian production, manufacturing and distribution facilities. Emerson’s Smart Wireless solution is an extension of the PlantWeb digital plant architecture, delivering data at unprecedented levels of reliability from assets previously out of physical or economic reach.

Customer response and interest in our new technology has been overwhelming. We are seeing customers coming with new applications that are enabled by Smart Wireless and PlantWeb solutions and it is exciting to see customers quickly realizing new value from their automation investments.

I see 2008 as the year when customers gain experience operating their mega plants and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with diagnostics and predictive intelligence. Project activities remain strong and we will be continuing to invest in people and facilities throughout the region to enhance service and support capabilities for our customers.
