Stormwater flow measurement

-- 1 November 2007

McCrometer is targeting facility and infrastructure engineers responsible for pollution and fl ood control with its Marsh Multi-Mag Flowmeter. Stormwater run-off is a public environmental concern and because the liquid fl ows are widely variable and unpredictable, measuring and monitoring them a challenge for conventional singlepoint flowmeters.
The Multi-Mag is a multipoint measurement solution that provides high accuracy in diffcult flow conditions, such as low flows, wide fl ow ranges, and flows containing sand and grit. It measures liquid volumetric flow rates in pipes sized from 100 to 3000 mm with a streamlined multi-point technology that creates negligible pressure loss. Using an insertable electromagnetic averaging design, the Multi-Mag measures volumetric flow with accuracy up to ±1% of reading, and repeatability at 0.20 percent of the flow range. Other applications, in addition to stormwater management, include custody transfer, filter balancing, filter backwash, water treatment processes, distribution management, and well head flows.
