Automation solutions for injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, extrusion and handling of plastics were exhibited by Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) at the K 2007 trade fair in Düsseldorf.
The focus was system packages based on the Sinamics family of drives and motion control solutions with Simotion and Profinet. Examples included a fully electric injection molding machine with Simotion IME 5000, a complete automation solution from motor shaft to HMI up to closed-loop applications with IMH 3300 for hydraulic injection molding machines based on Simatic Step7, and a removal device with the Simotion IMT 5000 for handling injection molded parts.
Siemens A&D also exhibited the permanent-field high-performance torque motors of the new 1FW3 series, as well as the water-cooled servomotors and water-cooled converters of the Sinamics S120 family of drives.
