The official launch of Mitsubishi Electric’s Safety PLC for Building Application and E700 All Round Inverter was just one item on the menu at the company’s Annual Dinner 2007. It was also an opportunity for the company’s many customers in the region to network and enjoy a fun-filled evening at the Shangri-la hotel in Singapore, which included musical entertainment, a magician, audience participation and, of course, the lucky draw.
Francis Cheng, General Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Asia, detailed how the company is able to offer a total solution for buildings – PLCs, drives, solar panels, air conditioning s ystems. Having garnered a number of prestigious building systems contracts this year, Cheng says that Mitsubishi is “pushing hard” to be part of the mammoth Marina Bay Sands integrated resort project in Singapore.
The E700 compact variable frequency drive replaces the E500 model that achieved global popularity during nearly a decade of production. With the E700, 200 percent motor torque is possible at 0.5 Hz, giving open loop speed range of 120:1. And a dedicated USB port allows direct set-up and diagnostics via PC, while 100 kA fault-withstand rating facilitates panel construction.
