GE Fanuc and Wipro team up for auto industry

GE Fanuc Automation and IT services player Wipro Technologies are to work together globally to serve automotive industry customers looking to integrate their production management and ERP systems.
The scope of the agreement covers services, point solution development and joint go-to-market activities. Wipro’s knowledge of supply chain, plant floor operations, enterprise technologies and business processes will reportedly enable timely and effective deployment of GE Fanuc Production Management solutions.
Said Sudip Banerjee, President, Enterprise Solutions for Wipro Technologies: “The manufacturing operations of the automotive industry present large scale implementation challenges that are well-served by this arrangement. This alliance is a building block in Wipro’s overall solution strategy to enable a Collaborative Value Network for our Manufacturing clients.”
Meanwhile, Wipro’s Partha Mukherjee is slated to speak will speak at GE Fanuc’s Discover 2007 Users Conference in St. Louis, October 22- 25, 2007. The title of his presentation: “Startup New Lines on Time and On Budget With More Flexibility.”
