In the last four years, the Singapore branch of Weidmuller, the regional HQ for the industrial connector, network and power equipment company, has experienced “unprecedented” growth, said outgoing Vice President, Heinz Truedler (pictured right).
The company recently opened a new sales office in Singapore to deal with increased business.
At the July 31 launch, Managing Director Eric Tan (left) commented on Weidmuller’s success, explaining that double-digit growth was largely in part to the strength of its distributors. By July 2007, the Singapore branch of Weidmuller had reached 72 percent of its sales budget, with 41 percent of revenue contributed by them.
Incoming Vice President and current head of Development, Jan Lont (center) forecasts that success to continue, placing his bets on the dynamism of the region and the increasingly important role of assembled products like junction boxes. “I believe in evolution,” Lont announced to the invited guests at the launch, “Not revolution.”
