A chance for some technology learning and to fi nd out more about the activities and products of one of the leading connector manufacturers, Weidmuller, was on offer at its February seminar held in Singapore in collaboration with NgeeAnn Polytechnic.

Opening the series of presentations and welcoming the attendees was Eric Tan, Managing Director, Weidmuller Pte Ltd, the regional office that handles sales and service for Southeast Asia. The Singapore operation commenced in 1997, and working with distributors as well as through direct sales, has grown to be one of the company’s most successful offi ces, he announced.

In addition to its traditional business of terminal blocks, heavy-duty connectors, power supplies, enclosures and tools, Weidmuller has more recently developed a range of advanced connectivity solutions for the burgeoning industrial Ethernet market, including switches, routers, and media converters.

Along with technical presentations held during the seminar, which covered the three topics of Overvoltage Protection, Signal Conditioning, and Power Supply, a range of exhibits allowed visitors to see latest products on offer from across the range, and to seek advice from helpful Weidmuller staff easily identifi able in the company’s signature orange and black.
