New president for Yokogawa

Shuzo Kaihori, currently Director and Senior Vice President, Industrial Automation Business Headquarters, has been appointed to the position of Representative Director and President. He takes over from the high profi le Isao Uchida, who will assume the role of Representative Director and Chairman. This transfer of responsibilitiestakes effect on April 1.


Kaihori joined Yokogawa n 1973, going on to hold a series of senior positions New president for Yokogawa in engineering, sales, systems marketing, fi eld instruments, and service. In April 2005 he was appointed to the position of Vice President, with responsibility for the industrial automation business, and one year later to Senior Vice President. He became a member of the Board of Directors in June 2006.


Giving reasons for the boardroom change, Yokogawa said that it had decided to reorganize the management team to fully implement the growth plan leading to a Second Milestone in 2010.


Under the VISION-21 & ACTION- 21 corporate strategy announced in 2000, Yokogawa has been innovating its business structure and enhancing the Group’s management effi ciency, defi ning the period up to March 2006 as the First Milestone phase. Based on the structural reforms that were undertaken during that period, in April 2006 the company entered the second growth phase that extends to 2010.
