The Fieldbus Foundation has announced that this year’s General Assembly meeting, taking place in Houston on February 22-23 and to be attended by FOUNDATION technology suppliers and industry participants from around the globe, will have “Changing the Playing Field” as its theme, to reflect the emphasis on providing a total control system technology infrastructure for industrial manufacturing. Key topics to be addressed include process integrity, business intelligence, and open scalable integration.

The General Assembly includes an overview of current Fieldbus Foundation developments, workshops for FOUNDATION system users, and presentations describing fieldbus installations in a wide range of process industry applications.

A keynote address by Larry O’Brien, ARC Research Director, “Beyond the Bus: FOUNDATION Fieldbus is an Open and Integrated Automation Infrastructure”, will address the adoption of FOUNDATION technology and why end users are demanding FOUNDATION Fieldbus around the globe.
