Siemens Forms New Manufacturing Software Group

-- Top News, 7 November 2006

Through the introduction of its new SIMATICR IT Business Unit, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. aims to offer its customers a single-source solution for every manufacturing software need - from the plant floor to the executive office.
Based in California, Siemens' new business unit combines the company's MES group with the Manufacturing Intelligence capabilities of IndX, a software company acquired by Siemens in 2003. The alignment integrates Siemens' R&D, Intelligence, and Production Suite products under the umbrella of the SIMATIC IT brand into a new organization. The new business unit will focus on the U.S. business functions of marketing, sales, consulting services and product development, to strategically drive SIMATIC IT business into the Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Discrete and Chemical industries.
