Siemens to Present Software Library for Top-Loading Modules in Packaging Machinery

-- Top News, 5 September 2006

With Easy Application Top Loading, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) will present a standardized software library for handling robots in packaging processes for the first time at the FachPack 2006 show in Nuremberg, Germany. The software library allows the programming and configuring of top-loading cells with different kinematic characteristics together with other software modules on one or more controllers. This means it is not necessary to synchronize with proprietary controller architectures or to learn special programming languages for robot controls.
According to Siemens, the software library is suitable for all Simotion platforms, and it significantly reduces engineering and programming costs.. All functionalities programmed in accordance with IEC 61131 are supported. Real-time synchronization and integrated data management are possible without restrictions.
