Denso Corp. announces it will build a new facility on the premises of its Agui Plant located in Aguicho, Chita-gun, Aichi prefecture, Japan.
Construction of the new facility is set to start in July and be completed in March 2007. Production of electronic products including bar-code readers, IC card readers, and programmable controllers is scheduled to start in May 2007.
Denso Elecs Co. Ltd., owned by Denso, will transfer its headquarters and electronic product manufacturing plant from the Denso Takatana Plant in Anjo, Aichi prefecture to the new facility. The building area will be 12,800 square meters and the total building investment will be approximately 2.2 billion yen (approximately $19 million).
“With this move, all of Denso Elecs functions will be centered at the Agui Plant including the existing production facilities for industrial robots,” said Masatoshi Ano, senior managing director in charge of Denso’s Corporate and Administration Centers.
Products produced by Denso Elecs are developed by Denso Wave Inc., a Denso company that manufactures industrial products. “Following the relocation of Denso Elecs, we plan to move the development division of Denso Wave, currently located on the same premises as Denso headquarters, to the Agui Plant,” said Ano.
In March, Denso announced that it had established its second China-based company (in Tianjin) Tianjin Poong Sung Electronics Co. Ltd., to produce instrument clusters. The new company will begin production at the end of 2006.
